Youth Club Soccer Spotlight: Granada United G99 Finalists in State Cup
Soccer NEWS:  Cal South State Cup Update.  Spotlight on Granada United G99 Team's Success.

After 2 weeks of rain and postponements, Cal South's long awaited competition for State Cup finals day finally arrived on March 5th, 2011. 

Granada United beat SC Bayern 3-0 in the semi-final game in the morning and headed into the final game against So Cal Infinity in the afternoon.  The final game was a very hard fought and aggressive game and had Infinity leading 2-0 at the half. 

Granada pulled a goal back as the second half started.  Despite a very offensive second half and a hectic final few minutes in front of the Infinity goal, Infinity won 2-1. 

This was a breakout year for the second year Granada team with several tournament wins and victories against several major teams. 

"I am very pleased with the girls' play this year.  They have improved each year and every girl on the team has developed into is a solid and skilled player.  We are just at the beginning of our journey" said Coach Jose Vasquez.
