Beckham says Buddle deserves a chance to play on the U.S. national team!  "He deserves it," Beckham said.

Edson Buddle was not able to continue his scoring streak in April 24 Galaxy game against the Wizards, which ended 0-0. However Buddle did deliver a standout performance in LA Galaxy’s game against the Real Salt Lake on April 18 which ended 2-1. Buddle is now the first player in MLS history to start off the season with the first seven goals for a club.

“I don’t think I’ve seen anything like it,” LA Galaxy forward Landon Donovan said. “The goals are going in but there are other chances in the game that he’s just missing. He’s getting pulled around by people like you wouldn’t believe. He’s getting fouled and hammered and with a little more luck tonight he would have scored three or four tonight.”

Buddle is enjoying his moment in the spotlight. His seven goals on the season have not only set a new benchmark but they have also the helped the Galaxy stay undefeated this 2010 season with four wins.

“It’s good,” said Buddle about how it feels to be scoring so many goals. “I’ve always stayed levelheaded because there are always ups and downs. I’m just enjoying it right now and I hope that I keep scoring.”

2010 Season Galaxy Games:
Galaxy v Revolution 1-0
Galaxy v Chivas USA 1-0
Dynamo v Galaxy 0-2
Galaxy v Real Salt
Lake 2-1
Kansas City v Galaxy 0-0
One of the reasons Buddle is doing so well is due to his dedication in the off season. It takes training, effort and practice to make a powerful finish like Buddle. While he is already on his way to a great season with seven goals, Buddle has also shown that he is an all-around player, who does more than just find the net.

"The thing I've seen more than anything is he's doing the little things on the field that are helping us win games," Donovan said. "Everyone’s seeing the goals, and obviously that's important as a striker. But he's holding the ball well, he's chasing defenders, he's putting defenders under a lot of pressure just by being active and aggressive, and that's helped us a lot."

The 6 foot-1, 185 pound striker has been playing in the MLS since 2001. Buddle, who is 28-years-old, is in his fourth season with the Galaxy. He has been playing in the MLS since 2001. Buddle’s dad, who played a little pro soccer in his native Jamaica, named his son after one of the greatest soccer players of all time -- Pele.

It is so exciting to have the LA Galaxy winning! Hopefully now everyone will get in their cars and cross the great divide between San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles and go to a game!
