Galaxy vs. Boca
Argentina's Boca Juniors, one of the world's most renowned clubs, play an International friendly against LA Galaxy in Los Angeles this Sunday, May 23, 2019
 
Argentina's Boca Juniors’ kick off their 2010 U.S. tour, this Sunday, May 23, at the Home Depot Center with their first ever match against the LA Galaxy. This highly anticipated International soccer friendly is saluted by our local San Diego Boca FC ‘s President and General Manager Yan Skwara who says “We were thrilled about the upcoming match between LA Galaxy and the Argentine Champions and any soccer fan who wants to see a special brand of futbol should make every effort to see this classic match. Soccer Players like Nicolas Gaitan and Sebastian Battaglia are special and the Galaxy are off to a major roll this year at 7-0-1 in MLS league play so it should be an exciting wide-open match.”
 
Skwara continued, “When we named San Diego Boca FC after the storied club in Argentina, I never dreamed that the actual soccer club from the Boca district would be playing so close to home so soon. We have a special place in our soccer hearts for Boca Juniors as the proof is in the pudding. Maradona, Tevez, Palermo and MLS's Guillermo Schelotto are just some of the very exciting and special players that Boca Juniors has been able to develop from an early age.”  
 
The Boca Juniors’ roster includes former Argentinean national team star defender Hugo Ibarra and Argentinean Matías Giménez. Boca’s roster also features potential stars Fabián Monzón Javier García. Monzón, a 23-year-old defender on loan from Real Bettis, was a member of Argentina’s Gold Medal squad at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. 

The youth academy has produced many Argentine internationals such as Juan Román Riquelme, Nicolás Burdisso, Carlos Tévez and Fernando Gago  The official name of the soccer team is Club Atlético Boca Juniors, but they are commonly referred to simply as Boca Juniors or Boca. Their home town is Buenos Aires, and they are the most popular Argentine sports club.
