Youth Soccer News: FC Barcelona Camps Registration Underway
Registration is now underway for the only United States summer soccer camps officially licensed by world soccer power FC Barcelona. The Barcelona Camps, which will be held this summer in seven cities around the country, will provide participants with the kind of training and methodology that helped to develop stars such as Lionel Messi, Cesc Fabregas and Xavi Hernandez. All American Sports Enterprise Inc. (AASEI) has partnered with FC Barcelona to present these unique camps.
The national team from Spain, and of course, FC Barcelona are renowned for excellence on and off the field. It is more than proper and well targeted passing, it is the ability for the entire team to play as one single solid unit flowing forward with offence and gliding back in defense. There is an intelligence on the field that is rarely seen in youth soccer and an approach which the camp hopes to share with today's youth players.
These one-of-a-kind training camps will feature coaches from Barcelona’s youth development program, FCB Escola along with qualified local coaches. For five days young players will experience the values, discipline and training of the FCB Escola. Registration is limited to 144 participants at each camp in order to provide the level of coaching and training that has created international champions. The camps are open to players from ages six to sixteen, both boys and girls.
The summer camps are a follow up to a highly successful Los Angeles Holiday Barcelona Soccer Camp held in Glendale last December. AASEI President Frank Bagheri called that camp a “great success” and said he is excited for the upcoming summer sessions.
“During the inaugural Los Angeles Holiday Barcelona Soccer Camp, together, we transformed the Glendale Sports Complex into an FCB Escola training camp,” he said, “with all of its values, discipline and training. To say we noticed players improve is an understatement. We, literally, saw nearly 140 participants transform into ‘Barcelona Style’ Players.”
Participants will be challenged at the camps, regardless of their current skill level or experience. In addition to the incomparable training opportunity, campers will receive over $100 worth of soccer accessories, including a Nike camp jersey, Nike shorts and socks and a Nike ball.
