Youth Soccer News:Pumas BU10 Opens Season on High Note
Presidio Soccer League has just launched Fall 2011 Season and the youth soccer teams in San Diego County have all gathered their cleats and uniforms and have hit the soccer fields around the country in a tough series of competitions. This is where player development and team work come togeher to creating great learning moments and deepen the passion for soccer. Here is a brief look at one great team, the Chula Vista Pumas BU10 Elite team.
The Chula Vista Pumas BU10 Elite kicked-off their season with a 4-0 win over the Chula Vista Rangers on Saturday, September 17. The Pumas controlled the flow of the game and maintained possession of the ball for the majority of the game. It was a nearly flawless performance from the boys, who have been training hard since February. The boys scored with four different players and played outstanding defense throughout the game.
Their successful opening was followed by another great performance by the team as it won 1-0 against Aztecs FC on Sunday. While the Pumas had possession of the ball and got many shots off, the Aztecs’ goalie made some very good saves to keep his team in the game. The Aztecs never really threatened to score as the Pumas defense was solid again.
The Pumas, led by head coach Juan Marquez and assistant coaches Tariq Hasani, David Ruiz and Osvaldo Archundia, play in AA-A bracket in Presidio League, but have played and beaten several AAA teams. The Pumas had a very successful summer, winning two tournaments and losing in the finals by penalties in San Juan Capistrano. The team is now ready to take on the new season.
