Chivas USA Honors Heroes of 9/11
Chivas USA announced Wednesday that their MLS game against D.C. United tomorrow Saturday, September 10, will commemorate the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks with a special tribute to military and first responders.
All Southern California military personnel, firefighters, police, paramedics, and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and their families will be welcomed into the game free, in honor and remembrance of those who have given their lives to protect this country.
The evening will include special tributes at the stadium, on the field, and on the video board before and during the game. Players and fans will take time out to remember the courage of those involved in the response to the attacks and the resilience of Americans in the following days, months, and years.
Personnel from all Southern California military installations, fire stations and precincts are welcome to bring their families to enjoy high-caliber MLS soccer. Attendees and their families should report to one of two promotions tents located at the Northwest or Southwest entrances of The Home Depot Center prior to the 7:30 p.m. kickoff. Active duty and retired members will be required to show valid service identification at the gate and to wear appropriate uniforms for free admission.
