MLS Soccer News: Chivas USA Foundation Hosts 6th Annual Charity Golf Classic in Support of Scholarship Funds Benefiting Low-Income Students

The Red-and-White organization partnered with the Consulate General of Mexico in Los Angeles, IME BECAS and Loyola Marymount University Latino Alumni Association

Chivas USA’s foundation, Fundacion Chivas de Corazon USA, hosted its 6th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Monday, October 22, at the Rancho Park Los Angeles Golf Club, known as the number one played public golf course in the country. The event took place at the Rancho Park Golf Course, opening at 10:00 a.m. with a shotgun start and closing with a beach party gathering at 4:00 p.m. Part of the proceeds raised at the event will be used to establish a scholarship fund benefiting low-income students.

This year Chivas USA partnered with the Consulate General of Mexico in Los Angeles, IME BECAS and Loyola Marymount University Latino Alumni Association for the event.

“Chivas USA and Fundacion Chivas de Corazon USA are proud to support young scholars in their pursuit of a higher education and feel honored to be partnering with such great institutions,” said Chivas USA’s Director of Community Affairs and Business Development Luis Rivera.

This was the second year in a row that Chivas USA’s Fundacion Chivas de Corazon USA designated part of the proceeds from its annual golf tournament to a specific cause. It is an effort spearheaded by the team’s leadership aimed at supporting low-income students that deserve the opportunity of a better and higher education.

The entire Chivas USA team, coaching staff, club, Consulate General of Mexico in Los Angeles executives, IME BECAS, and Loyola Marymount University Latino Alumni Association representatives were out on the green for the event.
