Pro Soccer News: CHIVAS USA and Fans Help Clean the Beach
Chivas USA and MLS W.O.R.K.S., Major League Soccer’s community outreach initiative, showed everyone how working together we can all make a difference. The Chivas USA soccer community, together with Heal the Bay, a well known environmental awareness organization, hosted a different kind of beach day, one dedicated to the preservation of our ocean.
Last Saturday, April 16, Chivas USA and MLS W.O.R.K.S. hosted this fabulous community event and it was a time to give back to the environment. The ChivaGirls, ChivaFighter, Chivas USA front office staff, and Chivas USA fans worked together to clean up Torrance Beach. This was the first ever Chivas USA beach clean up day and it was a wonderful success.
Hundreds of volunteers participated to be part of the effort to clean-up debris along Torrance Beach. Friends, families and members of the Chivas USA family walked the beach together in bright green shirts, cleaning up the beach and having a great time.
According to Eduard Cauich of Chivas USA, the event was "Awesome. It went great!"
