Youth Soccer News: Carlsbad November Nights

For the second year, Carlsbad Elite Soccer hosted the November Nights Girls College Showcase for U-16 through U-18 teams over the Thanksgiving weekend. The tournament, presented by adidas and Eurosport, is the first showcase of its kind in the country and this year featured 72 teams from eight Region IV states and a team from Australia. In addition, 178 college coaches attended to scout the high school players in action.

As an elite tournament, teams played only one game each day, with top teams being decided on points. Host Carlsbad Elite placed four teams at the top tier of their brackets, including the GU15 Elite team playing up in the U16 Trofeo group.

Other Carlsbad Elite winners were the GU16 Elite in the U16 Copa Mundial group, GU17 Elite in the U17 Copa Mundial group and GU18 Elite in the U18 Copa Mundial group.

Also showing strong was Gilbert Arsenal from Arizona, with the 95 Premier team taking the top of the U-17 Predator group and the 94 Premier team winning the U-18 Predator group.

All fields are state-of-the-art lighted turf fields in and all showcase games are played under the night sky of Carlsbad in Southern California.  This is a great, one of a kind youth soccer tournament attracting top players and coaches from around the country.
