CAL SOUTH Donates $210,000
CAL SOUTH DONATES $210,000 TO 47 YOUTH SOCCER & 7 ADULT SOCCER TEAMS BOUND FOR REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

In keeping with its long-standing tradition of donating funds to aid teams who are traveling to regionally and nationally held championship events, Cal South announced the donation of roughly $210,000 to teams involved in upcoming US Youth Soccer and United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) regional championship play.

Cal South will provide a total of $103,500 in subsidies to its 33 teams taking part in the 2010 US Youth Soccer Far West Regionals, to be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico from June 20-27. An additional total of $63,000 will go to the 14 Cal South teams attending the 2010 US Youth Soccer Region IV Presidents Cup Regionals in Medford, Oregon from July 18-25.

Often considered "the ultimate in membership benefits" to its youth soccer leagues and clubs in Cal South, these donations are made annually in order to ease the burden of traveling expenses for these teams as they compete for a spot in their respective championships. All of the funds for these donations are from entry fees paid at the Cal South State Cup, National Cup and Adult State Cup competitions.

"We are more than eager to help our teams that qualified for these regional events to hopefully carry their success to the national level," said Cal South President Johnnie Garza. "Cal South's ultimate purpose is to provide for our member leagues and clubs in these situations. On behalf of the entire Cal South, I wish all of these teams the best of luck at all these prestigious regional events."
