Club Soccer News: RSF Attack BU14 Premier in National Cup Semi Finals

Nate Hetherington’s RSF Attack B-96 Green (BU14 premier soccer team) move to semi-finals in National Cup.

National Cup is always demanding and exciting.  It is a time for soccer players to do their best and perform at the top of the game.  RSF Attack's BU14 team is doing just that.

"After the last two years of making the quarterfinals, I knew this year the boys had it in them to go farther. We have a talented group that has a great deal of passion and love for the game," said RSF Attack Soccer Club coach Nate Hetherington.

Carlsbad Elite - B14 lost to 1 RSF ATTACK B96 Green by one point with a final score of 2-1 in the Quarter final played this weekend.

The game wasn’t decided until the final moments when RSF Attack beautifully executed a freekick to prevail with a final score of 2-1. The late goal sends Attack to semi-finals to face Cosmos Academy, the number 1 ranked team in the nation, next Saturday May 14th with a shot at the title.

The Attack team tied Fullerton Rangers who were one of the favorites to win National Cup this year and beat DMS 11 Academy 3-1 and Pateadores 2-1 in bracket play.

In round 16 they faced N.V.S.C. another top ranked soccer team from northern California. The Attach BU14 Premier boys made a solid team effort and displayed a lot of character, as they defeated N.V.S.C. 2-1.

It is a tremendous accomplishment to win any game in National Cup against some of the best teams in the nation. Coach Hetherington and his team are proud to be the only San Diego team left in this bracket's top competition!

 

We all wish the Attack team good luck as they return to Lancaster for the Semi Final, game # 1081 to be played at 8:00 AM against Cosmos Academy West 96 next weekend.
