Club Soccer Spotlight:  4S Avengers

Avengers GU9 return to winning form and claim their first championship in 2010 by winning the Pegasus Cup Tournament in the GU9B Gold Division!

The Avengers played a very competitive Carlsbad Lightning team in the finals winning 2-1 in overtime.  Lightning got on the board first with a goal off a corner kick. The Avengers came roaring back and tied the score 1-1 at the end of the first half. The score remained 1-1 as the final whistle blew. Avengers scored early in overtime and held on for the win.

It was "deja vu" as last year's Avengers GU8 (formerly named Legacy) had to overcome a pool play loss in the Presidio Cup to Carlsbad but fought back to win in the championship game.
